Resonance is a useful SoundSol signal because it treats meditation as something a room can spatialise: neural rhythm becomes vibration, light and shared architectural atmosphere rather than private biometric feedback.

01The signal
The official SIGGRAPH description frames Resonance as an installation that externalises a meditator’s neural rhythms as architectural-scale light and motion. The important move is not simply EEG visualisation. It is the conversion of an inward practice into a spatial field that other people can sense and inhabit.
The Instagram paper image also points to a live performance setup: a Buddhist monk wearing a BrainCo OxyZen EEG headset, meditating while the installation translates neural data into vibrations and dynamic acoustic light patterns. Sound, body and room become one feedback system.
02Why SoundSol should track it
This sits exactly between SoundSol’s spatial audio, responsive rooms and cultural infrastructure lanes. It is not “immersive” as a sales adjective; it is a concrete design grammar for how cognition, sound, vibration, light and architecture can be coupled.
It also gives SoundSol a language for a gentler kind of bio-responsive environment: not optimisation dashboards or wearable novelty, but collective awareness made visible and audible in a room.
03Product and editorial use
As editorial reference, Resonance belongs beside spaces and events where the room behaves like an instrument: meditative AV, neurofeedback performance, acoustic light fields, spatial computing, and installations where visitors are part of the signal path.
As a build reference, it suggests small SoundSol experiments: browser studies where breath or audio amplitude produces field patterns, venue notes about rooms that support contemplative listening, and future TouchDesigner sketches around neural rhythm as spatial texture.
04Boundary
SoundSol should cite the official SIGGRAPH page and schedule rather than rehosting MIT/Critical Matter imagery. The research plate here is generated in-house as a rights-clean visual marker, not a reproduction of the paper figure.
